What a difference a day makes..

Blue sky, sunshine and light wind today yippee! Happy bunny biking but this country really is seriously hilly. Today's ride was 68 miles of roller coaster pedalling in and out of river valleys with1657m of climbing to Miraflores del a Siera.

It is so beautiful and I just love the emptiness. 

Coffee stop was in a little village basking in sunshine, although arm warmers and wind jackets were needed for most of the day. Hopefully it's going to get warmer as we head south.

The countryside continued to be beautiful and decidedly undulating.

We are only 30km outside Madrid and could see tall buildings in the distance but there is an amazing lack of urbanisation or traffic.

The weather was good enough for a picnic and we had delicious Andalusian stew. Unfortunately the climb straight after lunch wasn't a great digestive experience!

We are in a pretty hilltop town this evening and will hopefully be able to find a restaurant prepared to serve food before 10pm to avoid any more hangriness.
